Biography
Ezekiel Ansah, born on May 29, 1989, in Accra, Ghana, is a former professional American football defensive end and outside linebacker. He began his athletic career as a soccer player before relocating to the United States, where he attended Brigham Young University (BYU). Ansah gained national recognition for his exceptional performance in college football, culminating in a standout season that showcased his speed and agility.
Ansah was selected fifth overall by the Detroit Lions in the 2013 NFL Draft, marking a significant milestone as one of the highest-ever drafted players from Africa. During his rookie season, he recorded 8 sacks, earning him a spot on the NFL All-Rookie Team. He continued to build on this success, notably achieving a career-high of 14.5 sacks in 2015, which helped him earn a Pro Bowl selection and establish himself as one of the premier pass rushers in the league.
