Biography
Fazal-ur-Rehman (born June 11, 1935) is a former Pakistani cricketer who played as a right-arm fast bowler. He made his debut for the national team in 1952 against India and quickly established himself as a key player in the bowling attack. Throughout his international career, which spanned until 1961, he participated in 34 Test matches, taking 85 wickets at an impressive average, and became known for his pace and ability to swing the ball.
Rehman’s most notable performances include his match-winning contributions in the 1958 series against the West Indies, where he took his career-best figures of 5 for 96. He also played a pivotal role in Pakistan's early Test successes, contributing to significant victories that helped to elevate the nation’s stature in the cricketing world. In addition to his Test career, he represented various domestic teams, including Punjab and Lahore, where his skills were recognized and celebrated.
