Biography
Frank Cobden (born October 14, 1849) was an English cricketer known for his contributions to the sport during the late 19th century. He played primarily as a right-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler, representing Sussex and other regional teams. Cobden made his first-class debut in 1869, and throughout his career, he accumulated a total of 1,824 runs and took 146 wickets in 123 matches.
Cobden's most notable performances came during his time with Sussex, where he was regarded as one of the leading players of his era. His best season was in 1877, when he achieved remarkable averages and helped Sussex secure several significant victories. He was recognized for his exceptional fielding skills and was often a key player in close matches, contributing to his team's overall success.
