Frank Nicholson was a South African cricketer born on September 17, 1909, in Cape Town. A skilled all-rounder, Nicholson made his first-class debut for Western Province in the 1929-30 season. Over his career, he became known for his versatility, contributing significantly with both bat and ball.
Nicholson's international career for the South African national team spanned from 1931 to 1939. He played in 16 Test matches, scoring 586 runs at an average of 22.53 and taking 36 wickets, showcasing his dual capabilities as both a reliable batsman and a spin bowler. Notably, he was part of the South African team that participated in the historic 1938 tour of England, where his performance was instrumental in several key matches.
