Frank Tripucka, born on December 8, 1927, in South River, New Jersey, was a professional American football quarterback. He played college football at Notre Dame, where he began to gain recognition for his passing prowess. After college, Tripucka was drafted in the 19th round of the 1949 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions, marking the start of his career in the National Football League.
Over his career, which spanned from 1949 to 1963, Tripucka played for several teams, including the Lions, New York Yankees, and the Denver Broncos. He is particularly noted for his time with the Broncos, where he became the franchise's first starting quarterback and was instrumental in establishing the team’s identity in the early days.
