Fred Backway (October 2, 1913 – April 19, 1994) was an Australian rules footballer who played primarily for the Collingwood Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1930s. Renowned for his exceptional skills as a half-back, Backway quickly established himself as a prominent figure within the league.
