Freddie Solomon, born on January 11, 1953, in Charleston, South Carolina, was an American football wide receiver and quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) primarily during the 1970s and 1980s. Solomon began his collegiate career at the University of Miami, where he set school records and demonstrated his versatility, playing both quarterback and wide receiver. In the 1977 NFL Draft, he was selected in the third round by the San Francisco 49ers, marking the beginning of a notable professional career.
During his tenure in the NFL, Solomon played for the San Francisco 49ers, the Miami Dolphins, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, accumulating over 3,500 receiving yards and scoring 19 touchdowns.
