Gary Elmore is a former professional basketball player known for his contributions to the sport throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Born on March 15, 1961, in Mobile, Alabama, Elmore played college basketball at the University of Alabama, where he was recognized for his scoring ability and defensive prowess. He garnered All-American honors during his junior year, leading the team to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances.

Following his collegiate success, Elmore was selected in the second round of the 1983 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks. He played a total of six seasons in the NBA, also spending time with the New Jersey Nets and the Golden State Warriors.
