Gary Plummer is a former American football linebacker, born on January 26, 1960, in San Diego, California. He attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he played college football for the California Golden Bears. After a successful collegiate career, he was selected by the San Diego Chargers in the 12th round of the 1983 NFL Draft.
Plummer made his NFL debut with the Chargers, where he played from 1984 to 1989. He then had a notable stint with the San Francisco 49ers from 1990 to 1993, contributing to the team's success during a dominant era. With the 49ers, Plummer was part of the roster that won Super Bowl XXIX, further establishing his reputation as a key defensive player in the league.
