Gene Hickerson was born on February 15, 1935, in Augusta, Georgia. An American football player, he made a significant impact in the National Football League (NFL) as a guard, primarily for the Cleveland Browns. Hickerson played college football at the University of Mississippi and was selected in the 1957 NFL Draft by the Browns, where he began a distinguished career that would span over a decade.
During his tenure with the Browns from 1958 to 1967, Hickerson established himself as one of the premier offensive linemen of his era.
