George Francis Hearne was born on January 1, 1851, in Ealing, United Kingdom. He was a distinguished cricketer known for his right-handed batting and right-arm medium pace bowling. Hearne made significant contributions to the game during the late 19th century, playing predominantly for Middlesex County Cricket Club and representing England in international matches.
Hearne made his First-Class cricket debut in 1871 and went on to have a prolific career, accruing over 13,000 runs and taking more than 700 wickets. He was particularly noted for his performances in the domestic circuit, where he became a key player for Middlesex. His most memorable seasons included the 1873 and 1876 campaigns, where he demonstrated outstanding all-round capabilities.
