George Mehrtens (February 5, 1907 – August 22, 1986) was a prominent New Zealand rugby union athlete known for his exceptional skills as a fullback. He played for the New Zealand national team, the All Blacks, during the late 1920s and early 1930s, earning 28 caps and scoring 15 points over his international career. Mehrtens was part of the All Blacks squad that toured the British Isles in 1929, contributing significantly to the team's success.
