Biography
George Nēpia (25 April 1905 – 18 November 1979) was a prominent Rugby Union player from New Zealand, renowned for his exceptional skills as a fullback. He made his debut for the New Zealand national team, the All Blacks, in 1924, quickly establishing himself as a critical member of the squad. Nēpia was instrumental in the All Blacks’ victorious tour of the British Isles in 1924-25, contributing significantly to their 29-match unbeaten streak.
Throughout his international career, Nēpia earned 17 caps for the All Blacks and scored a total of 48 points. He was known for his tactical kicking, defensive prowess, and ability to read the game, which made him one of the leading players of his era. His performances helped solidify the All Blacks' reputation as a dominant force in world rugby during the early 20th century.
