George Ratterman (November 12, 1926 – August 28, 2022) was a professional American football player who played as a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL). He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and played collegiate football at the University of Notre Dame, where he earned recognition for his athletic abilities. Ratterman was selected in the 1949 NFL Draft, ultimately beginning his professional career with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
During his time in the NFL, Ratterman played for the Pittsburgh Steelers (1949–1950) and the Cleveland Browns (1951–1952). While with the Browns, he contributed to the team during a pivotal period in its history, showcasing his skills as a quarterback and participating in several key games. Ratterman's final playing years were spent with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL), allowing him to continue competing at a high level beyond his NFL career.
