George Rountree is a retired professional basketball player, renowned for his exceptional skills as a shooting guard during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Born on August 15, 1965, in Greensboro, North Carolina, Rountree attended North Carolina State University, where he made a significant impact in collegiate basketball. He led the Wolfpack to numerous NCAA tournament appearances and garnered All-ACC honors for his outstanding performances.
Following his collegiate success, Rountree was selected in the second round of the 1987 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks. During his six-season career in the NBA, he played for the Knicks, the Atlanta Hawks, and the Seattle SuperSonics, and he became known for his sharpshooting ability and clutch performances in crucial games.
