Biography
Germain Ifedi is an American football offensive tackle born on June 2, 1994, in Pflugerville, Texas. He played college football at Texas A&M University, where he was a standout player and earned recognition for his skills in protecting the quarterback and facilitating the running game. Ifedi declared for the NFL Draft following his junior season and was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the first round, 31st overall, of the 2016 NFL Draft.
During his time with the Seahawks, Ifedi emerged as a vital component of the offensive line, contributing to the team’s success by blocking for running backs and safeguarding quarterback Russell Wilson. He started in all 16 games of his rookie season, showcasing his durability and adaptability in one of the league's most competitive divisions. Ifedi played with the Seahawks until the end of the 2019 season, solidifying his reputation as a reliable offensive lineman in the NFL.
In 2020, Ifedi signed with the Chicago Bears, furthering his professional career in a new environment.
