Gerrie Pienaar, born on April 28, 1959, is a former South African cricketer known for his contributions as a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. Pienaar made his first-class debut in 1979 and went on to represent Western Province and Natal in domestic cricket. His prowess on the field was evident as he became a mainstay in the domestic circuit throughout the 1980s and early 1990s.
Pienaar played a total of 16 One Day Internationals (ODIs) for South Africa between 1991 and 1992. He was part of the squad during the inaugural Cricket World Cup for South Africa in 1992 and played a key role in the team's initial comeback after being isolated from international cricket for years.
