Gil Monroe is a retired professional basketball player known for his exceptional skills as a shooting guard. Born on July 12, 1985, in Atlanta, Georgia, Monroe showcased his talent at a young age and ultimately attended the University of North Carolina, where he played for the Tar Heels. During his collegiate career, he led the team to a national championship in 2006 and earned All-American honors in his senior year.
Monroe was selected as the 15th overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks.
