Gilbert Jessop was an English cricketer born on May 19, 1874, in Bristol, England. He was a right-handed batsman and a lively right-arm fast bowler, known for his aggressive style of play. Jessop made his first-class debut for Gloucestershire in 1894 and quickly established himself as one of the most exciting cricketers of his era.
Throughout his career, Jessop was renowned for his remarkable performances, particularly during the 1890s and early 1900s. He scored an impressive 8,288 runs in first-class cricket, including 17 centuries, and is remembered for his extraordinary batting prowess, which combined both speed and skill.
