Glenn Hughes, born on November 23, 1959, in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, is a former international cricketer who represented the Australian national team between 1979 and 1988. A right-handed batsman and occasional right-arm medium-pace bowler, Hughes made his debut for Australia in a One Day International (ODI) against England in 1980. Over his playing career, he participated in 21 ODIs and 8 Test matches, showcasing his skills as a solid middle-order batsman.
Hughes is best remembered for his contributions to the Australian Test and ODI teams, particularly during the 1980s. His most notable performances include scoring a match-winning 106 in a Test against India at Bangalore in 1986, along with consistently strong performances in ODIs which helped solidify his place in the squad during a competitive period for Australian cricket.
