Gordon Herbert, born on February 16, 1959, is a retired Canadian basketball athlete and current coach renowned for his contributions to both Canadian basketball and international play. He played collegiate basketball at the University of Toronto, where he distinguished himself as a standout player, earning recognition in the Canadian university league. Herbert's professional career included stints in various leagues, notably the Canadian Basketball Association (CBA) and the European leagues, where he showcased his skills as a guard.
Herbert represented Canada at the international level, participating in numerous competitions, including the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, where the Canadian men’s basketball team finished in a commendable fourth place. His on-court prowess and leadership were pivotal in elevating Canadian basketball on the international stage.
