Biography
Guy Charron is a retired Canadian ice hockey player, born on January 24, 1949, in Sherbrooke, Quebec. He was a versatile forward known for his strong skating ability and playmaking skills. Charron was selected in the second round, 14th overall, by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1969 NHL Amateur Draft.
Charron made his NHL debut with the Red Wings in the 1970-71 season, where he played a total of four seasons before being traded to the St. Louis Blues. Throughout his career, he also played for the New York Islanders and the Washington Capitals, accumulating a total of 146 goals and 197 assists in 669 regular-season games. Charron's performance in the playoffs was notable, as he contributed key goals during critical moments, particularly during his time with the Islanders.
After retiring as a player, Charron transitioned into coaching and development roles within the game, sharing his expertise with younger athletes.
