Biography
Guy Novès, born on February 5, 1954, in Toulouse, France, is a former French rugby union player and a renowned coach. He played as a winger for the French national team from 1979 to 1988, earning 43 caps and scoring 20 tries. Novès was part of the French squad that reached the semi-finals of the 1987 Rugby World Cup, marking a significant achievement in his playing career.
After retiring from playing, Novès transitioned to coaching, where he found considerable success. He became the head coach of Stade Toulousain in 1993, leading the club to numerous victories, including a record four Heineken Cup titles and multiple Top 14 championships. Under his leadership, Toulouse established itself as a dominant force in European rugby, and Novès was instrumental in developing many young talents within the club.
In 2016, Novès was appointed as the head coach of the French national team, taking the helm during a challenging period.
