Hank Alvey is a former professional basketball player known for his impactful contributions to the sport during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Born on June 15, 1965, in Evansville, Indiana, he played college basketball at the University of Vermont, where he earned All-American honors. Alvey was recognized for his scoring ability and playmaking skills, leading to his selection in the second round of the 1987 NBA Draft.

Alvey played the majority of his professional career in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a shooting guard, representing teams such as the New York Knicks and the Seattle SuperSonics.
