Harris Barton, born on April 19, 1964, in Charlotte, North Carolina, is a former professional American football offensive tackle who played in the National Football League (NFL). A standout player in college, he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned consensus All-American honors in 1986. Barton was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the first round of the 1987 NFL Draft, becoming an integral part of the team's offensive line during their successful runs in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
