Hazem El Masri, born on April 1, 1976, in Beirut, Lebanon, is a retired Lebanese-Australian professional rugby league player who is widely regarded as one of the game’s greats. He played primarily as a winger and fullback, spending the majority of his career with the Canterbury Bulldogs in the National Rugby League (NRL). El Masri is celebrated for his exceptional goal-kicking ability and speed, which contributed significantly to his team's success during his tenure.
Throughout his career, El Masri achieved numerous accolades, including being the NRL's top point scorer in multiple seasons. He was a vital part of the Bulldogs' 2004 grand final-winning team and played a prominent role in securing the 2002 NRL premiership. Over his 14-season career in the NRL, he amassed over 2,000 points and holds the record for the most goals scored in the competition's history.
