Born on January 15, 1988, in Chicago, Illinois, Burlong excelled at Whitney Young High School, where he led his team to a state championship and earned All-American honors. He went on to play at the University of North Carolina, where he was a key player on the Tar Heels, helping secure an NCAA championship in 2009.
Following his successful college career, Burlong was selected in the first round of the 2010 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Pelicans. During his time in the NBA, he achieved numerous accolades, including two All-Star selections and an All-NBA Team appearance.
