Homer Jones, born on February 18, 1941, in the United States, was a professional American football player who made significant contributions to the National Football League (NFL) during the 1960s and early 1970s. A standout wide receiver, Jones gained recognition for his exceptional speed and ability to stretch the field, earning him a reputation as one of the era's premier deep threats. He played college football at Langston University before being selected in the 1963 NFL Draft.
Jones began his professional career with the New York Giants, where he quickly established himself as a key player on the team's offense. He is best remembered for his record-setting performance during the 1965 season, when he became the first player in NFL history to score a touchdown on a reception of over 90 yards.
