Ian Herbers, born on July 18, 1967, in Edmonton, Alberta, is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey defenseman and current coach. He played junior hockey with the Kamloops Blazers in the Western Hockey League (WHL) before being drafted 99th overall by the New York Rangers in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft. Herbers went on to enjoy a career that spanned over a decade, playing for several teams in the National Hockey League (NHL) and the International Hockey League (IHL), including the New York Rangers, the Edmonton Oilers, and the St. Louis Blues.
Herbers's NHL career extended from 1986 to 1998, during which he amassed a total of 119 regular-season games and contributed to several successful teams.
