Ime Udoka, born on August 9, 1977, in Portland, Oregon, is a former professional basketball player and current coach. He played college basketball for the Portland State Vikings before transferring to the University of San Francisco, where he continued to make a name for himself. After going undrafted in the 2000 NBA Draft, Udoka began his professional career in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) and later joined the NBA.

During his NBA career, which spanned from 2003 to 2012, Udoka played for several teams, including the San Antonio Spurs, where he won an NBA Championship in 2005. Over his tenure in the league, he had notable statistical seasons, with his best performance in the 2006–07 season, averaging 8.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. Despite not being a superstar, his defensive skills and work ethic earned him respect among teammates and coaches.

Following his playing career, Udoka transitioned into coaching, ultimately becoming an assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs and the Philadelphia 76ers. In 2021, he was appointed head coach of the Boston Celtics, leading the team to the NBA Finals in his first season.
