Ismael Urzaiz, born on October 7, 1971, in Éibar, Spain, is a former professional footballer renowned for his role as a striker. Starting his youth career at the local club, SD Eibar, Urzaiz progressed to the senior team before moving to Athletic Bilbao in 1994. He quickly established himself as a key player and remained influential at the club for a decade, making over 300 appearances and scoring more than 100 goals.
During his time at Athletic Bilbao, Urzaiz achieved significant success, including winning the Copa del Rey in 1998 and the Supercopa de España in 2000. His performance on the field earned him a reputation as a powerful forward with exceptional aerial ability, contributing to his team's attacking prowess. Urzaiz also represented the Spanish national team, earning several caps and participating in major international tournaments, including UEFA Euro 2000.
