Biography
Jack Pardee was born on April 19, 1936, in Beaumont, Texas. He played college football at the University of Florida before being selected in the eighth round of the 1957 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams. Over his 15-season career in the National Football League, Pardee excelled as a linebacker and later as a defensive end, known for his tenacity and athleticism on the field.
Pardee made significant contributions to multiple teams, including the Rams, Chicago Bears, and Washington Redskins. He was recognized for his outstanding performance on the field, earning three Pro Bowl selections (1958, 1959, 1963) and a place on the All-Pro team. In addition, he was part of the Redskins' 1972 NFC Championship team, further solidifying his reputation as a skilled player during his era.
After retiring as a player, Pardee transitioned to coaching, where he achieved notable success, particularly as the head coach of the USFL's Houston Gamblers and the NFL's Houston Oilers.
