Jake Long, born on May 9, 1985, is a former American football offensive tackle who played in the National Football League (NFL). He began his collegiate career at the University of Michigan, where he gained national attention and was recognized as a consensus All-American. Long's stellar performance in college earned him the first overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, making him the first offensive lineman to be selected first since 1968.
Long spent the majority of his NFL career with the Miami Dolphins, where he quickly established himself as one of the league's premier offensive tackles. During his time with the Dolphins, he was selected to the Pro Bowl three times (2008-2010) and earned First-Team All-Pro honors in 2008.
