Biography
Jakub Vrána, born on February 28, 1996, in Prague, Czech Republic, is a professional ice hockey forward known for his speed and scoring ability. After rising through the junior ranks in the Czech Republic, he was selected by the Detroit Red Wings as the 13th overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft. Vrána made his NHL debut during the 2016-2017 season, quickly establishing himself as a promising talent in the league.
Vrána gained widespread recognition during his time with the Washington Capitals, where he played an integral role in the team’s victory in the 2018 Stanley Cup playoffs. His performance in the postseason, coupled with a successful regular season, led to his rapid ascension as one of the Capitals’ key offensive players. In the 2019-2020 season, he achieved career-highs in goals and points, solidifying his reputation as a reliable scorer.
