James Wisniewski, born on February 21, 1984, in Canton, Michigan, is a professional ice hockey defenseman known for his offensive contributions from the blue line and robust playing style. Wisniewski played junior hockey for the Ohio Junior Blue Jackets and later joined the University of Notre Dame team in the NCAA, where he garnered attention for his strong performances. He was selected 98th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
