Janelle Ross is a prominent basketball athlete known for her exceptional skills as a guard and her contributions to both collegiate and professional basketball. Born on July 15, 1995, in Atlanta, Georgia, she attended Westlake High School, where she earned multiple accolades, including All-State and All-Region honors. After high school, Ross played for the University of North Carolina, where she became a standout player and was named to the All-ACC First Team during her junior and senior years.
Throughout her collegiate career, Ross led the UNC Tar Heels to several successful seasons, including a deep run in the NCAA Tournament. She finished her university career with over 1,800 points, making her one of the all-time leading scorers in Tar Heel history. In addition to her scoring prowess, she was recognized for her leadership on and off the court, earning the team's Most Valuable Player award in 2017.
Following her college career, Ross was selected in the second round of the WNBA Draft and began playing for the Seattle Storm. Over her professional career, she consistently contributed to her team’s performance, helping the Storm secure a championship title in 2021.
