Janne Niskala, born on September 22, 1981, in Kitee, Finland, is a retired professional ice hockey defenseman known for his strong two-way play and skillful offensive contributions. Niskala began his junior career in the Finnish junior leagues before making his professional debut with Kitee in the SM-liiga during the 1999-2000 season.
