Biography
Jared Coreau, born on November 5, 1991, in Adjala-Tosorontio, Ontario, is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender known for his tenure in the American Hockey League (AHL) and brief appearances in the National Hockey League (NHL). He played junior hockey with the North Bay Trappers in the NOJHL before moving to the United States to play collegiate hockey at Northern Michigan University, where he was notable for his performance in the 2013-14 season, helping his team reach the NCAA Tournament.
Coreau was selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the sixth round, 180th overall, of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. After signing with the Red Wings, he developed in the AHL with the Grand Rapids Griffins, helping lead them to a Calder Cup championship in 2017. Coreau made several NHL appearances with the Red Wings during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons, showcasing his potential at the highest level of competition.
