Biography
Jason York, born on May 20, 1970, in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, is a retired professional ice hockey defenceman. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for several teams, including the Winnipeg Jets, Ottawa Senators, and the Detroit Red Wings, establishing a reputation for his solid defensive play and offensive contributions from the blue line. York was drafted in the 3rd round, 70th overall, by the Winnipeg Jets in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft.
Throughout his NHL career, which spanned from 1992 to 2006, York accumulated over 400 games played and registered more than 100 points. He also enjoyed a successful tenure in various minor leagues, where he was recognized for his leadership qualities and work ethic.
