Javagal Srinath, born on August 31, 1969, in Mysore, India, is a former cricketer who is regarded as one of the leading fast bowlers in Indian cricket history. His international career spanned from 1991 to 2003, during which he represented India in 67 Test matches and 229 One Day Internationals (ODIs). Srinath made his Test debut against Australia in 1991 and quickly established himself as a key player in the Indian bowling attack.
Srinath was noted for his exceptional pace, sharp bouncers, and ability to reverse swing the ball, making him a formidable opponent on any surface. He played a crucial role in India's success during the 1996 Cricket World Cup, where the team reached the semifinals, and was instrumental in their run to the final in 2003. Over his ODI career, he took 315 wickets, making him the highest wicket-taker for India in ODIs at the time of his retirement.
