Jay Barker, born on July 20, 1972, in Montgomery, Alabama, is a former professional American football quarterback. He rose to prominence during his collegiate career at the University of Alabama, where he led the Crimson Tide to a national championship in 1992. Known for his leadership and strong arm, Barker was named the 1993 Sugar Bowl MVP and concluded his college career with impressive statistics, including over 3,300 passing yards and 46 touchdowns.
Barker was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the 1994 NFL Draft but ultimately spent the majority of his professional career with the Carolina Panthers.
