Jay Leach, born on September 2, 1979, in Bloomington, Minnesota, is a retired American ice hockey defenseman known for his defensive capabilities and leadership on the ice. He played college hockey at the University of Denver, where he contributed significantly to the team's success, including their appearance in the NCAA tournament. Leach was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the 3rd round (84th overall) of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.
