Jay Ratliff, born on August 29, 1981, in Jefferson, Alabama, is a former professional American football player who had a notable career as a defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL). Ratliff played college football at Auburn University before going undrafted in 2005. He was subsequently signed by the Dallas Cowboys, where he quickly established himself as a key player on the defensive line.
During his tenure with the Cowboys, Ratliff became known for his exceptional athleticism and tenacity, earning two Pro Bowl selections in 2008 and 2009. He was an integral part of the Cowboys’ defense, helping the team secure a playoff berth in multiple seasons.
