Jayne Strand is a retired American professional basketball player, recognized for her versatile playing style and significant contributions to women's basketball. Born on March 12, 1985, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she gained prominence during her collegiate career at the University of Connecticut, where she was a key player on the women's basketball team, leading them to two NCAA Championships in 2004 and 2005. Strand's exceptional skills earned her numerous awards, including the Naismith College Player of the Year and multiple All-American selections.
After completing her college career, Strand was selected as the third overall pick in the 2007 WNBA Draft by the Los Angeles Sparks.
