Biography
Jed Ortmeyer, born on September 3, 1978, in Omaha, Nebraska, is a retired American professional ice hockey player known for his contributions as a forward. He played college hockey at the University of Michigan, where he was part of the Wolverines' NCAA Championship-winning team in 1998. Following his collegiate success, Ortmeyer was selected by the New York Rangers in the seventh round of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.
Throughout his NHL career, which spanned from 2001 to 2009, Ortmeyer played for several teams, including the New York Rangers, Nashville Predators, and Minnesota Wild. He was recognized for his strong work ethic and defensive skills, as well as his ability to contribute in penalty-killing situations. In addition to his playing career, Ortmeyer served as a mentor to younger players, imparting his knowledge and experience to the next generation of athletes.
