Jeff Bzdelik, born on December 1, 1952, in Endicott, New York, is a former professional basketball player and coach. He played college basketball at the University of Albuquerque from 1970 to 1974, where he showcased his skills as a guard. After college, Bzdelik was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 10th round of the 1974 NBA Draft, though he ultimately spent most of his playing career in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA).
Bzdelik's coaching career began in the late 1980s, quickly rising through the ranks in various capacities including assistant coaching positions at the University of Colorado and the University of Maryland. He gained notable attention as the head coach at the Air Force Academy from 1997 to 2000, where he laid the groundwork for a competitive program. Bzdelik later served as head coach at the University of Colorado from 2000 to 2007 and as head coach at Wake Forest University from 2007 to 2014, further enhancing his reputation in NCAA basketball.
Bzdelik is recognized for his defensive coaching philosophy and his ability to develop young talent, leaving a lasting impact on the programs he led.
