Biography
Jeff Hartings, born on September 7, 1972, in Lapeer, Michigan, is a former professional American football player who played as a center in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Penn State University, where he was a key member of the Nittany Lions’ offensive line, earning recognition for his performance and helping the team secure the 1994 Big Ten Championship. Hartings was selected in the second round of the 1996 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions, where he began his professional career.
Hartings played five seasons with the Detroit Lions from 1996 to 2000, before signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2001. He became an integral part of the Steelers' offensive line, contributing to the team's success and leading them to victory in Super Bowl XL in 2005. His exemplary blocking skills and leadership on the field earned him a Pro Bowl selection in 2003, solidifying his reputation as one of the premier centers in the league.
After retiring from professional football in 2006, Hartings left a lasting legacy as a durable and skilled offensive lineman.
