Biography
Jeremy Colliton is a former professional ice hockey player from Canada, born on January 13, 1985, in Blackie, Alberta. A center, he was drafted by the New York Islanders in the second round, 58th overall, of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Colliton played in the NHL for the Islanders from 2005 to 2010, appearing in 57 regular-season games and contributing eight points before transitioning to the AHL, where he had a successful career.
After retiring as a player, Colliton quickly moved into coaching, beginning as an assistant with the New York Islanders' AHL affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. In 2018, he was appointed head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks, where he led the team through the 2019-2020 NHL season. His coaching style emphasized player development and adaptability, and he was recognized for his ability to promote younger players into prominent roles.
Colliton’s legacy includes being the youngest coach in Blackhawks history at the time of his hiring, along with a commitment to fostering a competitive environment through a blend of youth and experience.
