Jerome Barkum, born on July 18, 1950, in Camden, New Jersey, is a former professional American football wide receiver who played in the National Football League (NFL) for the New York Jets and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After excelling at the University of Southern Mississippi, Barkum was selected in the 1973 NFL Draft, where he was chosen in the second round. His collegiate career laid the foundation for his successful transition to professional football.
Barkum made a significant impact in the NFL, playing for the Jets from 1973 to 1979 and for the Buccaneers in 1980.
