Biography
Jiří Bicek, born on December 3, 1978, in Slovakia, is a retired professional ice hockey player known for his versatility as a forward. He began his career in the Slovak Extraliga, where his skillset and tenacity quickly drew attention, leading to his selection in the NHL Draft. Bicek was selected in the 6th round, 168th overall, by the New Jersey Devils in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.
Bicek made his NHL debut during the 2002-2003 season and played a total of 47 games with the Devils and the Atlanta Thrashers. Throughout his career, he was recognized for his contributions in both the NHL and international competitions, representing Slovakia in various tournaments, including the IIHF World Championships. His time in professional hockey also included stints in several European leagues after his tenure in the NHL, showcasing his adaptability and commitment to the sport.
